Jason Pearce, LCSW

Are you overwhelmed by OCD symptoms?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can make everyday life feel like an endless cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. Many individuals with OCD find themselves trapped in a battle against their own minds, which often leads to significant distress, frustration, and isolation. The compulsive behaviors might provide short-term relief, but they rarely address the underlying fears and anxieties. The time-consuming rituals can interfere with work, relationships, and daily activities, leaving individuals feeling exhausted and hopeless. Seeking help can feel daunting, but it is essential to know that effective treatment options are available.

Do you feel like nobody understands your identity?
For many LGBTQIA+ individuals, feelings of isolation and misunderstanding can be prevalent. Societal pressures and discrimination can lead to issues like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Navigating your identity in environments that may not be accepting can create significant emotional turmoil. You might find yourself feeling pressured to conform to societal norms or suppressing your authentic self, which can contribute to feelings of inadequacy and isolation. Finding a supportive and affirming therapeutic space is crucial for exploring these challenges and promoting self-acceptance.

Are past traumas affecting your present life?
Experiences of trauma—whether from childhood, military service, or other significant life events—can leave lasting emotional scars. Individuals may grapple with flashbacks, anxiety, and trust issues, which can inhibit their ability to engage fully in relationships and everyday activities. The impact of trauma often manifests in ways that disrupt sleep, affect emotional regulation, and lead to challenges in interpersonal interactions. Acknowledging the pain of past traumas and seeking professional help can be a vital step in your healing journey.

We know it’s not always easy to take the first step. Everyone’s struggles are valid, and seeking support is a courageous decision. At Augusta CBT, we emphasize understanding you as an individual and the aspects of your life contributing to your difficulties.

Jason Pearce specializes in evidence-based practices, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for anxiety and trauma.

How Jason can help you.

When you make the decision to start therapy, Jason will take a thorough, individualized approach to understand your unique circumstances. In your initial sessions, he will gather information about your history, challenges, and the specific issues you want to address.

Next, he will employ targeted interventions such as CBT and ERP. This approach focuses on identifying negative thought patterns and gradually exposing you to the fears that trigger your OCD, thereby reducing avoidance behavior and anxiety. Regularly assessing your progress ensures that the therapy remains relevant and effective for your needs while also providing you with additional coping strategies.

In subsequent sessions, you can expect a blend of individual work and ongoing assessment of your goals. Jason will partner with you to help you develop practical skills for managing symptoms, enhancing emotional resilience, and rebuilding connections in your life.
